ACCM UK and Centre for Youth and Community Development (CYCD) are funded for the collaborative ‘’End the Silence’’ project, aimed at tackling hidden harms and promoting safety, dignity, and empowerment across the diverse communities of Bedfordshire. The project’s goal is to create safe environments where individuals can seek help and find support for culturally sensitive topics and issues. The focus areas are Honour-Based Abuse (HBA), (Honour Based Violence (HBV), Forced Marriages, and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The project offers one-to-one support and advocacy, practical and emotional support, educational courses and workshops, community outreach and awareness campaigns, volunteer training, training for professionals to raise awareness and increase their knowledge and confidence in supporting victims/survivors, and research into the prevalence of Honour-Based Abuse (HBA), Forced Marriages, and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Bedfordshire.
