Summary:
A proposal was submitted to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire from the Bedfordshire Police Force Watch Schemes, specifically relating to the Dog Watch Scheme. The proposal outlined the request of x100 Reflective High Visibility vests for the dogs that go on patrol with Dog Watch volunteers, which will not only provide a safety aspect for the dogs and volunteers but will also assist with the advertising and recruitment of more volunteers.
The total costing is £939.00 for x100 Reflective High Visibility vests, and this was approved by the Interim Chief Executive on 29/09/2022. This cost will be funded via the Community Safety Fund budget.
