Summary:

Police Appeals Tribunals (PATs) hear appeals against the findings of gross misconduct brought by police officers or special constables. PATs are currently governed by Police Appeals Tribunal Rules 2020.

Members of the public can attend appeal hearings as observers but are not allowed to participate in proceedings. The Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire is responsible for appointing the chair to conduct the proceedings.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner appointed a Police Appeals Tribunal (PAT) Chair, a Senior Officer, and Independent Member. The PAT hearing is scheduled to take place on 19 January 2024.

An Independent Member was appointed however later confirmed they were unavailable on 17 November 2023. Another Independent Member was re-appointed on 20 November 2023.
