Schools Debating Competition 2024
Calling all young people!
Are you aged 15-18? Attend a school in Bedfordshire?
Fancy yourself as someone that holds a good debate? If the answer is yes, we’d love to hear from you.
The Commissioner’s Schools Parliamentary Debating competition is taking place on the following dates:
Round 1 – 30th January 6pm-8pm
Round 2 – 15th February 6pm-8pm
Round 3 – 5th March 7pm-9pm
The PCC, Festus Akinbusoye said “I want to give young people the opportunity to develop their confidence in public speaking and broaden their knowledge of topical issues by encouraging participation in Parliamentary-style debating.
“It’s going to be a fun experience for all involved”.
Pupils will be required to illustrate views they do not necessarily hold, for the sake of debate. Marks will be awarded for debating skills, debating style and substance of argument.
